Our success story started in 1954, when engineer, John Darbyshire, realised the need for measured length recording in the thriving British textile industry. The appointment by the German counter manufacture Hengstler, as their UK agent, soon followed. Since then, J.Darbyshire & Son Ltd have represented Hengstler, both in the UK and Worldwide, supplying all aspects of counting, sensing and control equipment used in commercial and industrial applications.

Working closely with Hengstler, J.Darbyshire & Son Ltd can offer the best solutions, products and services, for its customers.

In 1995, as Hengstler became part of the Danaher Corporation USA, we have been able to offer further product brands, such as, Dynapar, Veeder-Root, Harowe, Eagle Signal, NorthStar, WEST, CAL and Joslyn Clark. From 2016, the Fortive Corporation was born. Fortive are a global leader as a core technology company comprised of the above product brands serving the industrial automation markets.

We also offer Kuhnke Pneumatic and Relay Products, Marre Safety Relay Module Solutions and Traco Power Solutions, all of which can be integrated with our range of industrial products.
